Who Should Success Lie In?
God. Without God we would be nothing and have nothing. We should be bragging about Him and what He has done and is doing. He is successful we are not. If you have a nice job, nice home, nice car, thank Him and be humble and grateful everyday for those things because those things can disappear as quickly as you received them. God wants us to be successful, He wants the best for us, but our definition of success and His definition usually are two different definitions. He gives us our abilities, so shouldn't we be grateful to Him for what we have.
We should be heavenly minded everyday not earthly minded. Stop worrying about how to get ahead in life and start worrying about your eternity and your works here on earth to further His kingdom. If you were to meet your Savior face to face today what would you be able to tell Him about what you did for Him today?
He is with us, thinking about us, worrying about us and providing for us every single day. Have you even thought about Him today? Or talked to Him today? Or read His word today?
All that success and money that came from it is literally worthless. The day of wrath is coming and quickly. What will your bank account do for you then? literally nothing. You can't buy yourself into eternity with Him. You can't use your "leadership skills" to talk your way into eternity either.
Philippians 3:7-8 Writing to the believers in Philippi, the apostle Paul said, “I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ”
If you think that you and God are always on the same wave link and everything is always perfect because you are at the top of your game in your life and career you may not always be listening to God you're more than likely relying on yourself and listening to your own words. How far will that really get you? We're flawed individuals, do you really honestly think we should be relying on ourselves? God is going to provide for you but sometimes He does say no to things.
Alfred Einstein said, “Try not to become a man of success. Rather, try to become a man of value.”
Look at the signs all around us. Jesus is returning, and soon, He is coming back for His church. Do not be left behind because you were too proud and too focused on your earthly existence. Fancy houses, fancy vacations, fancy cars, fancy jobs, being the boss, investments, a big bank account, the list is endless will not get you raptured when Jesus calls.Your belief and love in Him will. And if you have that belief and love in Him truly in your heart you wouldn't care about being a big success or boasting about it to anyone who listens. You would be so completely focused on Him that your first instinct would be to tell others about Him and making sure their heart is right with Him.
Don’t sacrifice yourself or your integrity for success. Let your morals and your faith and belief in Jesus be your success
Always remember, you have a direct line to God and the Son and the Holy Spirit each and everyday. No middle man required. What are you going to do with that direct line?
